22 years of Beirut

I must confess, 21 was a challenge, I never knew what to expect, 21 started with a nice gathering with my special people, some live in a different time zone now, others became a lot closer to me, and some left.I became closer to my family during 21, I found what’s common between us and learned from our differences.I was jobless and then I was lucky enough to nail an internship at Now Lebanon and ended up with a job there, a job which I kept for 8 months. The amount of people I met, the things I learned can't possibly be stated here for they are many.My love for the Syrian revolution grew bigger and bigger and it became my daily dose of motivation.21 taught me to be stronger, my job gave me endless courage.
21 took me to Istanbul and Tunisia, where I met people who still inspire me.21 took me to the borders at least twice a week, 21 worried many, but did not worry me.21 took away someone I met recently; Wajih was the highlight of my 21st.21 got me in trouble, I was mostly afraid of walking alone at night, or of turning on my car, but 21 gave me more faith in my words ,opinions and causes.Looking back at 21, I won't dive into more details, but it was definitely a turning point to me.After all, after going through almost every possible thing by 21, you come to realize how much you matter and ... I would love to make a difference by 22.
I started writing again and felt inspired by almost anything. I got published in TAGGED Magazine, Annahar newspaper and Now Lebanon.

  3. Beautiful! I am just glad, but you chose the most personal post , didn't exactly expect readers to actually enjoy this one.
I love Beirut, well sort of (obviously) and we have this complicated relationship going me, me and Beirut that is, so I try to illustrate it, the way I see it, the way it treats me...
    Pass by often, Sir/Miss!
